Kate has been living in the Tetons for 25 years and has managed to work in many facets of the outdoor world, but found that snow and skiing were her favorite. Kate worked as a ski guide and avalanche educator for 15 years after many years of NOLS work. She now works for the US Antarctic Program helping scientists recognize and mitigate risks inherent to remote and cold field work. She mainly works from home in Victor, ID and can be found running and biking in the mountains with her two brittany spaniels, or spending time with community over good food.
