The American Avalanche Institute (AAI) must have written notice of your cancellation or course exchange in our office via email communication. Cancellations made more than 30 days before your registered course (marked by the date of the intro evening zoom session) are eligible for store credit or a refund minus a 10% administrative fee. Course exchange requests made more than 30 days before your registered course are permitted at no cost. Cancellations or course exchange requests made within 30 days of your reservation will be permitted minus a 30% administrative fee. 

AAI is only able to offer an AAI store credit on cancellations for purchases made more than 90 days prior to your request.*

Recreational Level Courses: Cancellations made within 7 days of your course start date and “no shows” are non-refundable and no reschedule option will be available.

Professional Level Courses: Cancellations made within 14 days of  your course start date and “no shows” are non-refundable and no reschedule option will be available.

If a course is canceled by the American Avalanche Institute for any reason, the participant has the option to: reschedule to another course, be rewarded with a gift certificate for the value of their course, or be issued a full refund.

For cancellations due to COVID-19 related circumstances, please contact the AAI office immediately. We will consider each scenario on a case-by-case basis.
