Nick earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Colorado State University in 1999 concentrating on material sciences (and skiing). Nick is a former avalanche forecaster and ski patroller at Big Sky Resort. He has been teaching avalanche safety and mountain rescue for about a decade. In the winters he is in the mountains around Bozeman, MT and his spring and summer are spent as a climbing ranger in Grand Teton National Park. Nick has also been studying and teaching the art of Isshin Kempo karate for over 30 years and continues to apply the philosophies of martial arts to the mountains and the other way around. His newest adventure is parenting a spirited baby girl.
