Robby grew up ski racing in the hills around Traverse City, Michigan. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Geology, he promptly moved west in pursuit of big mountains and deep powder. After a brief stint in the mining industry, Robby dedicated himself to a career in the mountains; splitting time as an avalanche forecaster in Park City, Utah, and as a mountain guide for RMI Expeditions. Robby has completed his Level III, and now Pro 2 avalanche certifications, and has taught avalanche courses in Utah since 2012. While he’s not losing sleep during storm cycles, or guiding expeditions to Alaska and Peru, Robby most enjoys ski touring with friends and schussing groomers with his wife in his home mountains around Coalville, Utah.
