Gary is an IFMGA guide and a certified instructor of the American Avalanche Association. He loves being on skis and is at home heli-skiing, ski-touring, ski-mountaineering and long ski traverses. Gary has worked as a physicist studying “ice as a material”, a ski patrol, an avalanche forecaster, and a guide throughout the world. For 20 years his routine had been travelling between winters in New Zealand and northern hemisphere mountains, he is embracing change and exploring from his home in Alaska that provides him access to snow year-round.
