Another East Coast transplant, Dave Coyne found his way to his now home of SLC by way of Jackson Hole, where he spent 4 summers as an education ranger for the NPS. He began exploring powder-filled nooks of the Wasatch and learning about avalanches while patrolling at The Canyons over a dozen years ago.
Over the years, Dave has dabbled in the many disciplines of backcountry travel, moonlighting as a splitboarder, a skimo-er, a telemarker, but these days he identifies as a regular backcountry skier. Dave is a proud father and can often be seen skiing powder, riding single-track, or hiking the hills, often with his toddler in tow.
