Overview:
WE ARE EXPLORING OPTIONS FOR A COURSE IN 2024, REGISTER ON THE WAITLIST TO BE NOTIFIED
This course is designed for all levels of canine teams, from candidate to operational. Our K9 instructor staff draws on years of operational level experience in multiple states and countries. We bring experience from schools and organizations including C-RAD, WBR, CARDA and the Swiss Alpine Rescue group to provide specific feedback, drills, methods and exercises to help fully realize the potential and needs of each team.
Course focus:
- Basic obedience
- Mountain K9 transportation
- K9 care and first aid
- Preparing training sites
- Building a solid search foundation
- Training progression from a pup to a finished dog
- Canine communication (why do they smell each others butts)
- Scent theory
- Understanding the canine drives
- Avalanche search strategy

Avalanche Level 1
