2021 Foundations of Backcountry Touring Series by Stio and the American Avalanche Institute

Stio AAI Backcountry Touring

We’re excited to kick off our 2nd Annual Foundations of Backcountry Touring Series with our friends at Stio! Here’s how to join us:

Tune in Live on Instagram: Every other Thursday at 6pm MST

The Details:

  • When? Every other Thursday at 6PM MST beginning November 4th.
  • Where? AAI and Stio Instagram
  • Why? Because if you’ve just purchased backcountry touring gear, or haven’t used your gear for awhile, we want you to be prepared.

These little nuggets about the backcountry and avalanche preparedness are brought to you in partnership with our friends at Stio. A local Jackson, Wyoming-based apparel brand, Stio makes some of the best outdoor clothing for backcountry adventures!

These will be short 10 to 15-minute discussions. So, don’t be late if you want to participate and ask questions. Our lead instructor Sarah Carpenter will be on each week to talk about different aspects of traveling in the backcountry. You will learn about what gear to wear, what to pack, and what resources are available.
